Tom Hanks hosted the first special at-home episode of “Saturday Night Live” on April 11, with the whole cast tuning in from their at-home isolation during the coronavirus epidemic.

Hanks, the first prominent celebrity to be diagnosed with COVID-19, has made quite a comeback since returning from Australia.

The special episode of “SNL” featured musical guest Chris Martin from Coldplay and Larry David in a small role, in addition to the comedians who make up the show’s regular cast. The cast seemed to be keeping up good spirits, as Kate McKinnon joking exclaimed, “Live from Zoom, it’s sometime between March and August!”

“SNL”‘s last live episode was aired on March 7, with guests Daniel Craig, The Weeknd, and surprise guest Elizabeth Warren.

It was a fun change for the audience to see the cast working without makeup, costumes, and props. It seems people enjoyed the show, as this “SNL” episode was rated the second-most viewed of the season.

Hanks and wife Rita Wilson recovered from the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping the world and have been self-quarantining at home in Los Angeles. However, this hasn’t prevented the duo from keeping audiences entertained, with Hanks on “SNL” and Rita Wilson singing for an iNASCAR event.
