An Additional 80 Tons of Protective Medical Equipment Arrive in Greece

Eighty tons of anti-coronavirus protective equipment ordered by the Greek state for the National Health Service’s hospital staff arrived on Wednesday afternoon at Athens International Airport.
Greek Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias was there to oversee the operation of the unloading of the equipment.
The flight from the Chinese city of Tianjin carried 250,000 FPP2-spec face masks, 125,000 Tyvek-spec protective suits, 200,000 foot covers, 30,000 protective eyeglasses and 20,000 shields.

With workers at hospitals constantly exposed to all the many risks involved in fighting the coronavirus pandemic, Kikilias said that “in the midst of this global health crisis and shortage in supplies, we have been able to secure another large load of protective items, this time for Intensive Care Units, with money from the Greek State.”
The Minister added that the government will continue their efforts to support hospital staff, “who fight to keep us all healthy.”
