As a measure to aid EU Member States suffering from the coronavirus pandemic and its tremendous impact on their economies, the European Commission announced on Friday that state budget rules are eased.
In order to aid people and companies, the European Commission has put into effect the clause to relax budget rules.
“We promised we’ll do everything to support Europeans & EU companies through the crisis. We deliver. Yesterday we put in place the most flexible ever State Aid rules to help people and companies. Today we trigger the clause to relax budget rules, enabling govs to pump money into the economy,” European Commission President Ursula von de Leyen tweeted.
