The Greek Naval vessel ”Rodos” arrived at the port of Mytilene on the island of Lesvos on Wednesday. An LST (or Landing Ships, Tank) ship, the large-hulled vessel will be able to accommodate all incoming refugees and migrants who are currently camping out at the port of Mytilene.
The Rodos, which was designed to transport Army vehicles, will also temporarily accommodate all those who arrived on the island after March 1.
The city of Mytilene’s port has been transformed into an informal outdoor camp over the last 24 hours, as refugees and immigrants who have continued to arrive there say they have nowhere else to go.

Greece’s state-run AMNA news agency quoted officials from the Migration Ministry who claimed that only families will be accommodated onboard the naval ship.
All the migrants who are single individuals will be transferred on to the island’s existing migrant camps, despite these facilities already being full to overflowing.
