Raging Stefanos Tsitsipas Accidentally Injures His Dad

Stefanos Tsitsipas completely lost his head during this week’s ATP Cup encounter with Nick Kyrgios, and even managed to injure his father during an angry racquet-smashing incident.
The Greek world No. 6, accidentally hit his father Apostolos – who is also Team Greece’s captain in Brisbane – when he took his anger out on the courtside chairs after losing the first set to the Australian.
Kyrgios had just clinched it in a tiebreak, drawing a furious response from Tsitsipas – who won the ATP Finals at the O2 in London to end 2019 – and he lost his cool, leaving his father sitting in shock as he smashed a racquet at close quarters.
Apostolos Tsitsipas could not quite get out of the way of his son’s tantrum and his arm was left bruised by one wild racquet swipe.

Tsitsipas’ mother was soon on the scene, delivering a lecture to her son from the Greek team area and he was handed a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Tsitsipas lost to Kyrgios by a score of 7-6(7), 6-7(3), 7-6(5).
