Gabriel Katopodis: The New Minister of Public Works of Argentina is Greek

Gabriel Katopodis, an Argentinian lawyer and politician of Greek descent, was recently appointed as Argentina’s new Minister of Public Works.

Katopodis will assume his office on December 10, 2019, along with the new cabinet of President Alberto Fernandez.

The 52-year old politician was born to Greek parents in Argentina’s Belgano neighborhood, in Buenos Aires.

The new Argentinian Minister has been living in the city of San Martin for more than thirty years now.

In 2011 he was elected Mayor of the city of San Martin too, a position he held until recently, following his re-election in 2015 and 2019.

In the recent Municipal elections of 2019, he won with a whopping 54.85 percent, becoming the most voted candidate to be supported by the left-wing party of President-elect Fernandez.

Katopodis studied Law and holds two Master’s degrees in Public Management and Public Administration.

He has been politically active in Argentina for more than twenty years now.

Con profunda emoción y alegria la Asociacion La Colectividad Helenica de Buenos Aires felicita a Gabriel Katopodis y familia y le desea los mejores deseos en su nuevo camino hacia una Argentina mejor.
