Giannis Antetokounmpo Lauds Stefanos Tsitsipas After London Triumph

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who earlier this year predicted that Stefanos Tsitsipas will be the “Greek freak in tennis,” sent a message of praise and encouragement after Tsitsipas’ triumph in London on Sunday.
The 21-year-old tennis sensation had just won the biggest title of his career so far, beating Austria’s Dominic Thiem in the final of the Nitto ATP tournament, 2 sets to 1.
“Continue, don’t stop,” Antetokounmpo wrote on Instagram.

The “Greek Freak” had stated in January of this year that Tsitsipas would be the “Greek freak – in tennis.”
The comment was made to a sports journalist after a game, when Giannis was asked if he follows Greek athletes in other sports.
The NBA player said he mostly watches basketball and some soccer but then singled out the young athlete. “Tsitsipas is really, really good at what he does. The sky is the limit for him. At around 2020-2021 he is going to be one of the best tennis players in the world. We are going to have another Greek freak – in tennis,” he said.
