Mena Suvari Stars in Controversial Movie ‘The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson’

The trailer for the movie “The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson”, starring Mena Suvari as Nicole, was just released and it’s causing quite a stir.

Most people are familiar with Nicole Brown Simpson’s and Ron Goldman’s murders because Nicole’s estranged husband, actor and football star O.J. Simpson, was accused of and eventually acquitted of committing the crime.

Many saw this as a grave miscarriage of justice, since people widely believed Simpson was guilty.

O.J. further courted controversy by writing and publishing a book titled “If I Did It,” essentially confessing to the murders, although he posited his account of the murder as hypothetical.

The trailer for “The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” seems to show that the killer in the  movie’s story was not O.J. Simpson, but was actually serial killer Glen Rogers.

Rogers had confessed to the crime years later while sitting in prison, but police largely dismissed his confession as the grand delusions of a psychopath, since there was no evidence tying Rogers to the scene or to Simpson.

Many audience members have responded negatively to the trailer, viewing the film as insensitive, disrespectful, and sensationalist regarding the real-life tragedy of Simpson and Goldman.

Taryn Manning and Nick Stahl also star in the film, which is due to be released in December of 2019.
