Liana Mesaikou’s ‘Fifty Shades of Melania’ Comes to NYC

Liana Mesaikou‘s one-woman comedic show, “Fifty Shades of Melania”, makes its New York City debut on October 10. The show will premiere as part of the New York International Fringe Festival BYOV.

LA-based Greek writer and actress Mesaikou made waves when her theatrical show premiered in Hollywood, thanks to a popular and critically-acclaimed run in June.

The show examines the many faces of First Lady Melania Trump, as well as the roles and stereotypes often assigned to women.

As the description of the show itself puts it: “Victim or accomplice? Trapped or willing agent? Melania Trump is an enigma; her actions and words contradictory. As both the media and public speculate about the First Lady’s true emotions concerning her husband and the presidency, she maintains an air of mystery – perhaps on purpose.”

Funny yet insightful, the show has an intriguing take into both the First Lady’s actions and the stereotypes that women are always fighting to overcome or change.

“Fifty Shades of Melania” is directed by Chelsea Sutton. There will be a limited run of three performances of the show on October 10, 11, and 12, at the Chain Studio Theatre in New York.  You can find more information about the show and purchase tickets at the “Fifty Shades of Melania” website.
