More Than 240 Migrants Land on Greece's Lesvos on Wednesday (video)

At least 243 migrants arrived on Wednesday on Greece’s Lesvos, more than cancelling out the transfer of 215 migrants from the notorious Moria camp to the port of Piraeus earlier on the same day.
Video footage shows migrants, including small children disembarking from a boat on the beach of Kara Tepe, just outside the capital Mytilene.
According to the local website Politika, on Wednesday six boats landed on the shores of the island from nearby Turkey.

Despite efforts by the Greek authorities to stem the inflow of migrants, most of whom will request political asylum, the influx to Lesvos and other Greek islands remains high.
Official figures on Monday showed that from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday, 217 refugees and migrants landed on the shores of Lesvos.
During the same period, a total of 43 individuals landed on Chios and 114 on Samos.
