Greece Stands by Cyprus in Defense of its Rights, PM Mitsotakis Says

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and other senior Cypriot officials held a meeting with Greek Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday morning.
The two leaders discussed the progress made in talks between the two ethnic communities of the island, which are sn attempt to find a common way out of the impasse of the last decades on the Cyprus issue.
Anasiasiades informed the Greek PM on the results of his recent contacts with the United Nations envoy Jane Holl Lute, who has worked extensively with both sides on the Cyprus situation.
The President of Cyprus called the latest remarks by the Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu ”unacceptable, which highlight the intense concerns of the Greek Cypriot community, which are no other than Turkey imposing complete control over the Turkish Cypriot community.”

The two leaders pledged to coordinate actions ahead of the UN General Assembly in New York, which will convene later this month, and in relation to efforts to resume negotiations for a Cyprus settlement.
