Two men are dead and one woman is seriously injured after a speedboat crashed into a wooden fishing boat at Porto Heli in Peloponnese on Friday evening, according to the Hellenic Coast Guard.
Police and the coast guard are searching for the man who was driving the speedboat, allegedly a French or Belgian, who fled as soon as the boat landed.
The incident took place at 9:00 pm on Friday. Under unknown circumstances, the speedboat carrying 10 French passengers – including five minors – rammed the fishing boat, cutting it in two.
The French tourists were taken into custody after helping to bring the injured woman and one of the bodies to shore. The tourists suffered no injuries and are all in good health. They were held for questioning in regards to the identity of the person who was driving the boat.
The French nationals will appear before a prosecutor to testify on Monday.
