A 34-year-old British woman has been missing since Sunday on the island of Ikaria in Greece, with authorities currently combing the island by land and searching it by air, with no results as of press time.
Natalie Christopher, a British astrophysicist who is a resident of Cyprus, visited the island for the weekend with her 38-year-old Cypriot partner. They stayed in the Kerame area of the island of Ikaria and had been planning to return to Cyprus on Monday.
When her partner woke up on Monday, she was not in the room. When he telephoned her, she told him that she had gone jogging. That was the last contact anyone has had with the woman; after that point, she either would not or could not answer her telephone. Shortly after that, it was switched off.

Christopher is strong and athletic, and most of her posts on Facebook show her jogging or hiking.
Her partner reported her missing at 12:40 PM on Monday. A search then began on the island involving police, fire service and volunteers.
There are many mountain paths for jogging on the island and one person said that he saw the woman running after they were shown her photograph.
A Navy helicopter from Chios arrived on Ikaria and searched for the woman using thermal cameras, but the air search has proved fruitless so far.
Examining her room on Ikaria, police found blood on the bed she had used, and the stained bedding was sent to a police laboratory for further analysis.
