Thermal Imaging Camera Captures Athens Buildings During Heatwave (video)

As temperatures in Athens, on Friday, flirted with the 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera captured the heat in the buildings of the Greek capital.
Meteorologists warned of even higher temperatures on Saturday across most of Greece, adding that the worst of the heat should start subsiding as strong northerly winds bring the mercury down to more comfortable levels on Sunday and Monday.
The highest temperatures on Friday were recorded in central Greece, which will also bear the brunt of the heatwave on Saturday with a high of 41-42 Celsius (105-107F) in Thessaly.
Greece’s Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos asked local authorities open air-conditioned facilities they own to the public, especially to vulnerable members of society.
