Passengers Ferried to Athens from Mykonos After Flight is Cancelled

Passengers of a domestic flight between Mykonos and Athens were asked on Sunday to take the ferry to the Greek capital after the carrier cancelled one of its scheduled flights.
The airline Volotea, a low-cost Spanish carrier registered in Barcelona, Spain with bases in Spain, Italy, France and Greece, informed its passengers through sms on Sunday afternoon that their flight to Athens had been canceled.
The airline gave no reason for the cancellation, but did inform passengers that it had secured tickets for the ferry which was scheduled to leave the next day, on Monday morning.

It was widely reported that many passengers ended up being stranded, as they were forced to miss their connecting flights from Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos airport.
