Hoop Placed on Top of Mount Olympus to Honor Giannis Antetokounmpo (video)

The American athletic wear company Nike placed a basketball hoop on the top of Mt. Olympus, the highest point in Greece, to honor Giannis Antetokounmpo, who earlier in the week was named MVP of the 2018-19 NBA season.

Nike also produced a short video on Olympus’s highest peak, Mytikas, titled “To make it to the top, put your dreams to work.” The summit of the mountain, which features prominently in Greek mythology, rises to a majestic 2,919 meters, or 9,577 feet.
Olympus is most notable in Greek mythology as being the home of the Greek gods.

Nike is surely making the most out of the Greek Freak’s success. The NBA star is to make his mark in the world of performance footwear with his new “Nike Freak 1,” which is scheduled to debut on July 10th at a reasonable price point of $120 US.
Nike had earlier in the week released another video dedicated to Antetokounmpo which has enjoyed millions of views on social media. “Fate can start you at the bottom,” the Nike advertisement states, ending with the phrase “Dreams can take you to the top.”
The advertisement highlights Antetokounmpo’s journey from Athens’ rough Sepolia neighborhood to getting drafted in 2013 by the Milwaukee Bucks, to his journey to America and finally becoming a beloved NBA star.
The advertisement ends with the company’s new advertising tagline, “It’s only crazy until you do it.”
