Anna Korakaki Wins Gold Medal at European Games in Minsk

Greek Olympic champion, gold medalist and world champion shooter Anna Korakaki added a second title by winning a gold medal during this year’s European Games competition in Minsk, Belarus.
The Olympic gold medalist from Drama, Greece won first place in the 25-meter air pistol shooting competition, in a final that was chock full of tension.
Korakaki managed to beat her rival from Switzerland, Heidi Diethelm Gerber, who took home the silver medal.
The Golden Greek qualified for the final by placing in sixth place in preliminary rounds, but by showing great determination and precision, she managed to climb all the way to first place and win another gold medal for her country.
On Saturday, Korakaki won the silver medal in the 10-Meter Air Pistol shooting competition in the European Games.
The quadrennial competition dubbed European Games 2019 is being held in Belarus’ capital city of Minsk from June 21 to June 30.
The Games were initiated in 2015 in Baku and the next iteration of the Games will be held in 2023 in the beautiful and historic city of Krakow, Poland.
