A large wildfire broke out in Lagonissi, Attica, near the capital of Athens, on Saturday afternoon.
The fire was first noticed at noon local time at an area with low vegetation, but the fire has already spread burning down pines and olive trees.
Greeceās fire service posted on Twitter that thirty men with eleven vehicles, two aircrafts, a helicopter and a hiking section of the service have all rushed to the scene in an attempt to extinguish the fire.

According to the first information available, the fire has not burned down any houses, but it is close to an urban settlement there.
The Mayor of Saronicos ordered the evacuation of some homes in the area but reassured the public that there is no reason for people in the area to worry.
