Highly acclaimed Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos has been recruited by Italian fashion giant Gucci to film its latest fashion campaign.
Shot in support of Gucci’s “Cruise 2020” show – which took place in Rome last month – the lookbook is set in one of the city’s most desirable residences, Villa Albani Torlonia, and more specifically within the villa’s art gallery.
Gucci describes the locale as “a dream of classicism, conceived through emotional paths in a unanimous understanding of environments, landscapes and works of art arranged following a precise furnishing project, as if here, they can eternally be rediscovered.”
Arguably now best known for “The Favourite,” the Oscar-grabbing period masterpiece which justly sent actress Oliva Colman into the big leagues, Lanthimos first rose to arthouse prominence with his family drama “Dogtooth.”
