Tsitsipas, Sakari Fail to Make the Finals in Rome

Greek tennis giants Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari failed to make it to the Internazionali BNL d’Italia finals in Rome, losing both 0-2 to Rafael Nadal and Karolina Pliskova respectively on Saturday.
Tsitsipas the 20-year-old Greek tennis wonder did not make it again against Spanish giant, who dominated 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the Italian Open final. It was as if Nadal took revenge after losing to Tsitsipas in three sets at this stage in Madrid last week.
Despite a great effort and the encouragement from a lively crowd shouting his name, the Greek No.1 did not manage to repeat his triumph.
Later in the evening, Maria Sakkari had to compete against the more experienced Czech Karolina Pliskova for a spot in Sunday’s final. She lost both sets 4-6, even though she had a key game in each set.
