Kypros Michaelides apologized on Tuesday on behalf of the Cypriot police to the families of the victims of Nicos Metaxas, the admitted serial killer from Cyprus. The new chief of the Cypriot Police Force made his apology during the official ceremony on Tuesday morning to mark his appointment.
Michaelides admitted that the Cypriot police had failed to protect the unfortunate victims from the former officer of the National Guard, who has confessed to the murders.
The new chief of police promised that those who neglected to investigate the incidents will be held accountable.

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades expressed good wishes to Michaelides as he undertakes his difficult new duties, and called on him to show ”zero tolerance against criminal elements, negligence or incidents of non-imposition of the land’s law and order.”
The island of Cyprus, as well as the entire nation of Greece, are still in shock as the authorities’ search to locate the bodies of the National Guard captain’s victims continues. The Cyprus police force, along with several detectives from Scotland Yard, are tasked with finding a motive behind the complex mystery of the worst crime in Cypriot history.
