S&P Keeps Greece at B+ Rating

Expectations for the upgrading of Greece by Standard & Poor’s (S & P) were not confirmed, as the rating agency kept Greece at a B+ rating.
Although, the Greek market and the investment community anticipated an upgrading, S & P eventually kept Greece’s long-term bonds to B +, with a positive outlook. At the same time, the rating agency notes the risks posed by possible political polarization in the run-up to the elections.
“Given that 2019 will be a year of national and European elections, it is very likely that polarization of the political scene will escalate in the coming months. In our view, this poses a risk of delays in areas such as privatization, the efficiency of the justice system and a further improvement in the business environment.” the S&P report says.
