Greek Teachers Strike Over New Education Bill

Greek teachers walked off the job on Friday to protest against a bill which would change middle and high school curricula and regulate the country’s university entrance system.
Members of the Greek Federation of Secondary State School Teachers (OLME) went on a 24-hour strike, halting education for the day in all secondary and high schools across the country.
Strikers gathered in central Athens, as well as in Patra and Thessaloniki, to demand the withdrawal of the Education Ministry’s bill from consideration in the parliament.
