Greek prosecutors sent the file of the ”Novartis case” to the Greek Parliament on Monday.
The investigation conducted by prosecutors into an alleged bribery scandal involving the Swiss pharmaceutical firm Novartis and senior Greek politicians is now completed.
The public prosecution for corruption issues declined to charge four out of the ten politicians originally implicated in the case.
The four who will not face further investigation are the former ministers Evangelos Venizelos, Andreas Lykouretzos and Georgios Koutroumanis and former Premier Panagiotis Pikrammenos.
The case remains open for further investigation for former Premier Antonios Samaras and the ministers Dimitrios Avramopoulos, Adonis Georgiadis, Marios Salmas and Ioannis Stournaras.
The former Minister Andreas Loverdos needs to testify for the case too.
No evidence has been found thus far to suggest that the persons involved were bribed.
The entire Novartis investigation is based on witnesses’ confessions, which claim that some of the politicians involved had been bribed by the Swiss pharmaceutical giant.
