PM Tsipras Calls on Greek Businesses to Invest in North Macedonia

Greek entrepreneurship could play a key role in North Macedonia‘s economic growth, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras stated on Thursday during his visit to Thessaloniki.
“Greek entrepreneurship has the potential to play a dominant role in North Macedonia’s economic growth, with the important and positive momentum created by the Prespa Agreement,” Tsipras remarked.
His statement was made at a meeting with a panel of prominent entrepreneurs from northern Greece.
The prime minister urged Greek entrepreneurs to grasp the opportunities created by the Prespa Agreement. He stated that his government’s initiatives will create the necessary conditions for such business ventures as an incentive.
Tsipras’s visit to Thessaloniki comes ahead of his official trip to North Macedonia next Tuesday, on which he will be accompanied by seventy businessmen.
However, the prime minister’s business trip to Skopje will not be joined by the Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki after its president, Michalis Zorpidis, said he will not go to North Macedonia “as long as it is using a name that does not belong to it.”
