Greek Derby Abandoned Due to Crowd Trouble

The Greek derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos at Athens Olympic Stadium was abandoned on Sunday due to unrest and violence in the crowd.
In the middle of the second half, as their team was losing 1-0, Panathinaikos fans clashed with police, who responded by throwing tear gas. Players rushed off the field to protect themselves.
After lengthy consultations with officials, German referee Marco Fritz made the decision to abandon the game.
