Andy Demetrio Teams Up With “Saw” Director To Release Horror Film “St. Agatha”

Greek-Cypriot actor and writer Andy Demetrio has co-written a new psychological thriller and horror film titled “St. Agatha”, which will be released in the US and worldwide on February 8.

Demetrio has already written several scripts and TV pilots together with his writing partner Shaun Fletcher. In order to create their own content in Hollywood, the two formed the production company “The Outside Writers”.

Their newest project managed to attract the attention of Darren Lynn Bousman, one of the directors of the famous and long-running “Saw” franchise.

The film “St. Agatha” takes place in the 1950s. It follows a pregnant con woman named Mary, who decides to seek refuge in an isolated convent in rural, small-town Georgia, in order to give birth. She soon learns, however, that the convent and its residents hide a lot of dark secrets. Agatha is pulled deeper into the convent’s supernatural world, and realizes she must find a way to escape along with her baby.

Starring Courtney Halverson (“Unfriended”), Carolyn Hennesy (“General Hospital”), and Sabrina Kern (“Pretty Hurts”), this new thriller is not your average horror movie. Hollywood in Toto called it “a horror film with brains and atmosphere”.

After coming out in theaters, “St. Agatha” will be released on DVD and VOD in the UK on February 11. Check out the full trailer above.
