Stefanos Tsitsipas beat the Serbian tennis player Viktor Troicki on Tuesday, paving his way through to the third round of 32 in the Australian Open, taking place in Melbourne Park.

The 20-year-old Greek tennis phenom beat Troicki soundly with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Speaking with the magazine Eurosport, Tsitsipas thanked the Greek fans who go to support him in the Australian Open. He said that the Greek fans have given to him so much energy that it makes him feel like he’s playing in Athens.

Tsitsipas’ next match will be held on Friday against Nikoloz Basilashvili, a 26-year-old player from the country of Georgia. Basilashvili beat Stefano Travaglie, a 27-year-old player from Italy, in his last match.

If Tsitsipas continues on his winning streak, it is possible that he could face tennis legend Roger Federer in the fourth round of the competition.

On Wednesday morning, Tsitsipas uploaded a picture on Twitter which was accompanied by an ancient Greek proverb which translates to: ”there is only one good omen, and this is to defend your homeland”.
