Thessaloniki's Christmas Magic Captured in Spectacular Drone Video

The city of Thessaloniki has been covered in millions of twinkling Christmas lights and other festive decorations as Greece’s second largest metropolis undergoes a complete metamorphosis to welcome 2019.
On New Year’s Eve, more than 4,000 fireworks, rising up to a height of 200 meters, will illuminate the sky over the historic city.
The fireworks spectacle will start one minute before midnight and the display will continue for ten minutes.
Most of the city’s stores, cafes and restaurants have been decorated with countless lights, reindeer, Christmas trees and even artificial snow.
As always, Aristotle Square is at the heart of all the holiday festivities. Its twenty-meter-high (65-foot) Christmas tree is ornamented by thousands of lights.
Thessaloniki’s magic as it prepares for the New Year festivities has been captured in a new video from the FotoRant team.
