A historic villa turned luxury hotel, located on the island of Chios, has amazed locals and visitors alike with its over-the-top Christmas decorations this Christmas season.
Thousands of lights, ornaments, a huge imposing tree, an “igloo of lights”, polar bears and snowmen are just some of the decorations which have turned the Argentikon Estate into a festive spectacle this year.
The vast Argentikon Estate stretches for 32,000 square meters (almost 8 acres), and is located near the villages of Thymiana and Kampos. The estate was built in the sixteenth century by the Genoese aristocratic family of Argenti.
It has been designated a National Historic Monument and is considered a perfect example of medieval Genoese architecture in the Levant.
