Chicago’s Finest Chefs Celebrate Greek Cuisine at National Hellenic Museum

On Thursday, November 1, the National Hellenic Museum was filled with hundreds of foodies who enthusiastically sampled Chicagoland’s finest Greek cuisine at the Kouzina 2018 event called a “Twist on the Classics”.

The annual event, in its eleventh year, aims to connect new generations of people in the Greater Chicago area with Greek culture, Greek food and Greek-American history.

When speaking of the event, the National Hellenic Museum’s President Dr. Laura Calamos explained: “Although we are The National Hellenic Museum, Kouzina is not just an event for Greeks—it is for all those who love how cultures can be influenced by, and brought together through, food and flavors. We are excited to open our doors and raise a glass to the community during one of our most anticipated events of the year,” foodnewfeed.com reported.

From drinks on the rooftop of the museum with awesome views of the city skyline, to mingling while sipping wine and sampling sumptuous food or taking a stroll through the museum, the popular event draws in hundreds of attendees every year.

The city’s culinary elite, including prominent second city chefs such as Chef Louie Alexakis of Avli Restaurant, Chef Larry Feldmeier of the Albert, and Chef Nate Henssler of Portsmith all offered their unique twists on Greek cuisine, as well as classic dishes and a wonderful wine selection to complement their dishes.

All proceeds from Kouzina benefit the National Hellenic Museum, lending support toward their educational and cultural programs which they offer to the public in efforts to preserve Greek history and art.

Kouzina 2018 was supported by an array of sponsors, including Platinum Sponsors, the Calamos family and the Koudounis family.
