Greek Police Calendar Map shows FYROM as 'Macedonia', Occupied Part as 'North Cyprus'

Hellenic Police (ELAS) is launching an investigation after the official 2019 calendars distributed to the force feature a map that shows FYROM as “Macedonia” and the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus as “North Cyprus”.
The calendars were printed by a private company and the investigation will focus on who designed the map and whether the content of the calendar was checked before printing.
President of the Panhellenic Federation of Police Officers (POASY) Grigoris Gerakarakos spoke on ANT1 television on Thursday morning expressing disbelief of the whole incident.
“It is somewhat odd that the Hellenic Police heads conduct an official investigation for the official calendar of the Hellenic Police.”
Gerakarakos stressed that the Prosecutor’s Office will have to intervene and wondered whether “the private company that has been responsible for printing the calendars will be prosecuted for defamation of the Force.”
At the moment, all calendars have been recalled from police stations and investigation is underway.
