Athens Technical University To Offer Joint Degrees With Columbia

The main campus of Columbia university in New York City

For the first time in Greek higher education, a major university will now offer joint programs with Columbia University of New York City. According to a new agreement between the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the highly-regarded US-based university, the two educational institutions will now offer joint undergraduate degrees to their best students.
There will be no tuition fees for NTUA students who finish their education at Columbia because the Athenian university has agreed to cover the cost with scholarships and sponsorships.
According to Greece’s Ta Nea daily, the agreement was reached between Athens Polytechnic Chancellor Giannis Gkolias and the officials at Columbia university.
The program will begin in 12 months and will be tailored to meet the needs of honors students. The agreement is expected to be extended to the postgraduate level as well, with students from one University being able to attend the classes of the other.
