Greek Pilot Dazzles Crowds in Crete (video)

A Greek pilot of an F-16 fighter aircraft marked celebrations for the patron saint of Heraklion, Saint Minas, on Sunday with a spectacular display over Heraklion, the capital of Crete.
Crowds gathered to watch the breathtaking maneuvers by the aircraft after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Saint Minas (Agios Minas in Greek).
The foundations of the imposing cathedral, one of the largest in Greece, were laid on 25 March 1862 as a token of gratitude by the citizens for the saint’s protection of the city. The site is said to have been indicated by a monk to whom St Minas appeared in a vision.
November 11 is a public holiday in the city of Heraklion.
