The body of Konstantinos Katsifas, his casket wrapped in a Greek flag and carried in a hearse decorated with the blue-and-white, arrived in his Vouliarates, Albania, hometown on Wednesday afternoon.
It has been ten days after being shot and killed by Albanian police, and shadows are lingering over the circumstances of his death. The body of the 35-year-old man will stay in his father’s house until the funeral on Thursday.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 13.00 local time on Thursday at the Holy Temple of Agios Athanasios. There will be a burial service at the village cemetery afterward.
