Albania to Return Katsifas' Body 'By Tuesday'

The lawyer representing the family of Konstantinos Katsifas, the 35-year-old ethnic Greek fatally shot by police in southern Albania on October 28, revealed that his body will be turned over to the family by Tuesday.
Albanian authorities claim Katsifas was killed in an exchange of fire after he shot at Albanian police.
Last week, following a brief examination of the Katsifas’ body, a Greek coroner ruled that the victim had not been shot at close range.
However, questions have been raised over the fact that gunshot wounds to his chest had been sewn up before the Greek coroner was allowed to see the body.
The family claims that Albanian authorities concealed important information that could have shed light into the circumstances of his death.
Katsifas’s parents and relatives joined other villagers for a memorial service held on Sunday in the local church of Vouliarates, close to the Greek-Albanian border.
