Greek Police Make Two Arrests Over Argentinian Embassy Intrusion

Two suspects were arrested following the intrusion into the Argentinian Embassy in central Athens on Friday.
Greek police initially held 9 suspects, two of whom were charged.
It was reported that ten people went up to the 3rd floor of the Argentinean Embassy on Vassilissis Sofias Avenue, rang the doorbell and upon entering distributed fliers to the embassy employees. They also strung a banner along the balcony before leaving.

The banner read “In Memory of Maldonado” “Solidarity to the Struggle of the Argentinean people” and was signed “Anarchist Collective Rouvikonas.”
In a statement, the group said that their action was in support of Argentinian activist Santiago Maldonado, who was killed in August 2017, allegedly by the country’s security services.
