Where to Get Your Halloween Spooks in Athens

SPOOKY-HalloweenHalloween is not a holiday officially observed in Greece. However, who can say no to dressing up and eating candy? As the practice of celebrating Halloween sweeps through Greece, there are an increasing amount of places where you can get your spook on!

Here are the top parties for you to check out this Halloween in Athens:
This Halloween, stop by Little Kook (17 Κaraiskaki Street, Athens) near Monastiraki. Here you will find the cafeteria decked out in Halloween decor. The street outside of the cafeteria also sports that Halloween feel, while the inside has been transformed into the “witches tea room.” The spiderwebs, icky gigantic bugs, floating heads, and thematic menu add to the spooky spirit!
Trick or treat traditions are in the air, and at the Hard Rock Cafe in Athens (52 Adrianou Street, Athens), you can participate in one of the most popular Halloween pastimes: face painting! In addition, a Halloween themed “freakshake” will be available from October 26 until November 2. On Halloween night you can dance the night away with a special Halloween DJ and participate in a costume contest! Check out #ThisIsHardRock, #RockinHalloween2018
Party all Halloween night long at six d.o.g.s (6-8 Avramiotou Street, Monastiraki)! It’s a hot spot in Athens on Halloween night, as some 2,500 people attended last year. Admission is free, and this is a Halloween party you won’t want to miss, complete with decorations, themed drinks, a labyrinth basement, a haunted piano, live music, and a horror photo booth. Boo!
If a calmer family-orientated Halloween is what you are looking for, on November 3 from 4-7 p.m., a great place to party with your kids is at St. Catherine’s British School (77 Venizelou Street, Lykovrissi). The PTSA Halloween & Bonfire Night will be a night to remember for you and your children. There will be a spooky haunted house, trick or treating, magicians, storytelling, arts and crafts, food and drinks, and many more Halloween themed activities!
