Greece To Investigate Circumstances Under Which Katsifas Killed

Prosecutors from Ioannina, capital of the Greek region of Epirus which neighbors Albania, sent the case file of Konstantinos Katsifas’ death to the Athens public prosecutor’s office on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the circumstances under which the 35-year-old Greek was killed. Katsifas was shot by Albanian police in the village of Bularat (Vouliarates) in Northern Epirus on Sunday.
The investigation will formally commence after Katsifas’ sister delivers his identification card to Greek authorities, proving that he was a Greek citizen. Katsifas’ family members are also slated to provide testimony regarding his engagement with Albanian Special Forces and the incidents that preceded his death.
