The body of a 58 year-old woman who was missing since September 29, when the Mediterranean cyclone ‘Zorba’ hit the central and southern parts of Greece, was found dead on Monday afternoon in the village of Kyrinthos on the island of Evia.
The victim’s body was discovered by a man who was collecting wood in the area. He spotted something unusual among the mud, so he attempted to find out what it was. Upon realizing that it was the dead body of a woman, he called the local authorities.
The woman’s husband was also found dead 18 days ago, five days after the cyclone. Both husband and wife had been swept away by a torrent of water.
