Stowaway Kittens from Cyprus Survive 10 Day Journey

Proving once again that cats really do have nine lives, three brave little kittens survived a week-long ordeal trapped inside a car with no food or water.
The car was located onboard a military vessel, the Eddystone, traveling from Limassol, Cyprus to Southhampton in the United Kingdom, a journey of approximately 2,000 miles.
The kittens were discovered on the tenth day of the journey by the ship’s staff, who named the little creatures Neptune, Sinbad, and Galene.

Now they’ve been given a clean bill of health by a veterinarian and have begun a three-month stay in quarantine, funded by an animal welfare group who will find the kittens new homes.
“The staff were surprised to see three kittens sitting on the car’s dashboard staring out at them,” said Patrick Fortnum, the ship’s agent, speaking to the Metro newspaper in the United Kingdom.
“The kittens were about three or four weeks old and were in remarkably good condition considering they’d had no food or water for a week,” said Fortnum. “Their survival is miraculous.”
