Mediterranean Cyclone "Zorba" Hits Methoni (Video)

The Mediterranean Cyclone “Zorba” that rages in southern Peloponnese on Saturday hit the seaside town of Methoni causing havoc on the main beach and overturning boats.
In an exclusive Greek Reporter video shot by Kostas Smirlis, the power of the Cyclone makes its presence with fury. Boats are overturned and washed ashore, the wind smashes into beach bars, umbrellas are swept away, while water covers the beach.

“Zorba” hit Peloponnese on Saturday morning, bringing 90 km/h winds, hard rain and crashing waves to normally placid seaside towns like Methoni, Finikounda, Koroni and further north to the regional capital of Kalamata,
Methoni is a popular tourist destination, famous for its Venetian castle washed by the sea, next to a beautiful mile-long beach.
