An unprecedented and utterly weird phenomenon happened in the Greek town of Aitoliko:
The locals woke up and saw an area of more than 300 meters covered completely by endless spider webs!

This absurd scene happened on the beach of the east side of the area’s lagoon.
The webs have ‘swollen’ trees and vegetation, including palm trees and tamarisks.

During the last few days, locals and tourists were complaining that they kept seeing flocks of mosquitos flying over the area.
So, people assume that the spider webs must be the nature’s response to keep the balance around the region, by trapping the annoying insects.
Whatever the explanation though, the scenes of Aitoliko are impressive.
