Greek Opposition Leader Slams SYRIZA from Thessaloniki Fair


The President of the center-right New Democracy Party and Leader of the Opposition in Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave a speech on Saturday in Thessalonikis’ Ioannis Vellidis Conference Center.
Mr. Mitsotakis attacked the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and said that the speech the PM gave last week was his last appearance in Thessaloniki as PM. Mr. Mitsotakis added that the sooner the General Election is called, the better.
Using an Obama-like motto ‘’We can’’, Mister Mitsotakis said that Greece can and deserves to leave the era of decline and start a new chapter of production and creativity.
His speech had six main pillars that covered the topics of Economy, Security, Institutions, Global Presence of Greece, Education and the mobilization of the Civil Society.
Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized on the decrease of taxation both for Enterprises and citizens, something that would give the necessary boost to the Greek Economy attracting new local and foreign investments, creating thousands of jobs for unemployed Greeks.
