Greece’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Kotzias, has conveyed Athens’ views regarding the time-frame and the methodology of the Cyprus reunification talks to UN Secretary General`s special envoy, Jane Holl Lute, during a two-hour meeting on Tuesday.
During the meeting Kotzias underlined that the Cyprus problem is first and foremost a matter of occupation and invasion, while stressing the key issue for all residents on the island — Greek-Cypriots, Turkish-Cypriots, and the other three religious groups — is to feel safe.
Therefore, he noted, “the Treaties of Guarantees and Security must be abolished.”
