Greece Wins 1-0 in Estonia in Nations League Debut (video)

Greece’s debut on Saturday in the new UEFA tournament, the Nations League, was successful after a 1-0 win against Estonia, despite a mediocre performance in the second half.
The Greek national team did just enough to score a goal in the first half and then coasted along in the second half, as the Estonian side did not seem to pose a threat to Greek goalie Vassilis Barkas.
The blue and white went into the field determined to dominate and had a number of chances at the Estonian goal.
Only 14 minutes into the game and a Costas Mitroglou pass found Costas Fortounis down the right-hand side with the Greek midfielder putting the ball in the Estonians’ net.
Thirty-nine minutes into the first half and the order was reversed: A Fortounis free kick found Mitroglou in a good position inside the Estonia box, but the Greek striker aimed at the post.
In the second half Estonians had possession but they were not convincing enough to score an equalizer.
On Tuesday Greece will travel to Budapest for the second match of the tournament against Hungary.
