Greek Fishermen Complain of 'Undeclared War' by Turkish Counterparts (Video)

Dozens of Greek fishermen from the east Aegean islands have sent a legal notice to the government complaining of continuous provocations by their Turkish counterparts.
The notice, signed by 36 fishermen, says that their counterparts infringe in Greek waters and accuse the authorities of looking the other way.
“Turkish fishermen fish in Greek territorial waters undisturbed by the Coast Guard,” they say.
According to the legal notice, the Greek authorities have ignored their repeated pleas for help. The response of the Maritime Ministry, they claim, was: “Unfortunately, we can not do anything because of fear of escalating tensions between Greek and Turkey.”
Fishermen called on the government and judicial authorities to take action as they find themselves “in an uneven undeclared war with Turkish fishermen and Turkish patrol boats that are assisting them in illegal fishing.”
In August, Turkish fishermen opened fire at Greek trawlers near the island of Leros.
