6 Dead, 60 Sick From West Nile Virus in Greece's Central Macedonia

The West Nile cases that are reported in Greece’s Prefecture of Central Macedonia has reached the number of 60, while the reported deaths are 6.
This is what Lazaros Kyrizoglou said after a joint meeting of the local Authorities.
Mr Kyrizoglou urged the local Municipalities to save money so that next year’s spraying will be much wider and effective all over the affected areas.
West Nile is a virus most commonly spread to people by mosquito bites.
About 1 out of 150 infected people develop a serious, sometimes fatal, illness. In order to reduce your risk of West Nile Virus people should use insect repellent and wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants to prevent mosquito bites.
