Turkish Navtex for Military Exercise Blocks Large Maritime Area West of Cyprus

A new Navtex for navy exercises issued by Turkey, blocks a large maritime area to the west of Cyprus on the Akamas – Peyia – Paphos – Pissouri route, less than seven nautical miles from the port of Kato Paphos, an Athens News Agency report says.

The Navtex issued suddenly on Wednesday says that on Thursday (today), the exercises of the Turkish Navy will take place from 10 am to 4 pm.

Meanwhile, the arrival of asylum seekers in Cyprus continues as 36 refugees from Syria crossed over from the occupied part of the island to the Republic of Cyprus. Based on  information from competent authorities, the refugees wanted to meet with their relatives that are currently in Cyprus.
