Greece vs the Caribbean: The Ultimate Battle of the Holiday Giants

As the last week of August has already begun and September is on its way, many of us have started wondering about our next holiday destination. Whether it’s going to be a winter break somewhere idyllic or a more classic summer holiday next year.
Two places are competing against each other, making our decision more difficult than ever: Greece and the Caribbean.
It is a really hard choice as both these destinations have so much to offer no matter what you’re searching for.

The Caribbean Sea
The Caribbean Sea on the west of the Atlantic Ocean is the tropics of the Western Hemisphere. A few miles off the coast of Florida, numerous island nations are waiting for you, ready to offer relaxation and adventures with a unique turquoise and green background.
Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and countless more islands in the region offer a wide variety of options for you to choose from.

Contrary to the public belief, there are no best or worst Caribbean tourist attractions, as this is completely a matter of opinion. But some of them get so much attention that it is hard to argue about their popularity and beauty. Hence, the Caribbean’s nearly year-round sunny and hot weather makes the region a popular place for those wanting to escape from the miserable weather of the northern latitudes.

However, the Caribbean is much more than just the sun and sea that draw people and keeps them coming back. Visitors on a multi-day trip can easily stop at four, five or even more destinations and take advantage of the chance to get off a ship and walk around the islands of the area.
San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico

People who visit the Caribbean find the chance to get off the beach to break up their day in the sun to find out that the region offers a chance to experience unique cultural and natural attractions at really low prices, especially for the average American, not to mention the proximity of the region to the mainland USA, something that makes it one of the most popular destinations among many.

Greece
Greece is known by everyone as the birthplace of democracy, philosophy, science and …plate smashing. But is this beautiful European country with its countless islands in the Mediterranean Sea simply that?

For many, Greece is unique. A visit there can be the dream of a lifetime for different reasons:
Even in the smallest piece of land, Greece offers the chance to find a connection to the glorious past. All around the mainland and the islands, there are countless ancient sites of various historical periods: From Ancient Greek temples to Roman Villas and from Byzantine monasteries to Ottoman mosques and Neoclassical mansions, Greece offers an unspeakable variety of historical, religious and cultural wealth.
Ermoupolis, the capital of Syros and the Cyclades

Combining the virgin landscape, the pure color of the sea, the great History of the past and the indisputable hospitality of its people, Greece is a destination that dares you to explore.

In addition to all this, Greece’s position in the European Union and the Eurozone, allows other EU citizens to visit the country and stay for as long as they like. Also, the citizens of the USA, Australia, and Russia do not need to make visa arrangements for tourism, making Greece a very-easy-to-access destination.
So, what’s the choice? Difficult to answer but whatever your choice, both these destinations have so much to offer.
